Header content hidden for job page with lengthy logs

Release notes

Problem to solve

The log area isn't a scrollable div on the job logs page. By design the job logs page comes scrolled to the bottom of the logs which is useful for users to quickly understand the status of a job. But to display the end of the log, the entire page is scrolled to the bottom. This hides the header, which also has the expand the sidebar that contains all the meta information about the job and assists users in forming a context.

For a mobile device, users have to scroll manually to the top of the logs and then expand the sidebar.

Intended users

User experience goal

User should be able to look at the related information around a job at all times without being required to scroll through first.

Proposal

  1. Keep the header visible as users scroll through the logs for a better responsive behaviour
  2. Continue displaying the end of the logs as users visit the job logs page
